Company History

Nyehome Nursery Schools was established in September 1966 by Mrs Nora Connolly, who originally trained as a Nurse in 1954/57 at St Catherines which is now known as Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, and ended her nursing career as a Deputy Matron. Mrs Connolly decided to open a Nursery School where she could take her own children, as there were no such facilities about at that time. This coincided with the time that women were deciding to return to work.

The first nursery school was opened at the beginning of September 1966 in Jubilee Avenue, Crewe. This was followed by the opening of another Nursery in Sandbach Cheshire in 1980, which relocated in Vicarage Lane in March 2002 in new purpose built premises.

In 1986 Nantwich Nursery was opened in Shrewbridge Road, Nantwich and relocated in 1997 into a purpose built new building at Barony Court, Barony Road, Nantwich. Further Nursery Schools were opened in Clatterbridge and Arrowe Park Hospitals, Wirral in 1992 and 1995 respectively. We also have a Holiday Club at Arrowe Park Hospital, Wirral (Known as Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust).

Nyehome Celebrated 40 years in childcare and education in September 2006 – and prides itself on high standards of care and education it delivers to children Birth to 5 years.

We now have children attending Nyehome Nursery School whose grandparents brought their children in 1966 – (we have a third generation of the same families). This is a testimony to our high standards and gives our staff a great deal of satisfaction.
