Nursery Stages
First StageOur staff will care for your baby or very young child on an individual basis, taking into account your child’s own sleeping patterns. In a safe and stimulating environment, your child’s development will be carefully monitored – the Nursery working in partnership with you. We have a ‘Key Worker’ system in place. Baby food is specially prepared onsite and is well balanced, wholesome and nutritious. Second StageAt all stages your child will be introduced and encouraged to take part in stimulating educational play and social interaction. Because of Nyehome’s traditional values and approach, the first seeds of self-discipline and respect for others are sown. Staff will carefully monitor your child’s progression, under all the areas of learning. Third StageBy now our aim is that your child should have greater social skills, improved concentration and keen to learn. They will be introduced to all elements of the pre-school national curriculum, working in small groups. In this way, Nyehome will have laid the foundations for school and provide you with an up to date record of your child’s achievements. We have a qualified pre-school teacher at all of our Nurseries. Nursery Nurses work with the Teacher to organise planning. Helping your child to reach their full potentialIn the early years a child learns in many different ways. Learning and DevelopmentThe best way to help your child reach his or her physical potential is to make activity enjoyable. Your child will work in a small group, with individual attention from qualified staff. The aim is to gently develop concentration and confidence in preparation for school days ahead. Enabling EnvironmentWe offer indoor and outdoor play, musical movement/dancing, which is all planned and assessed. Unique ChildThese skills are vital for any child’s emotional well-being. In a relaxed and enjoyable environment your child will develop both listening and visual skills. Positive relationshipThis is a key area of activity at Nyehome. The abilities that are so important in later life begin here, developed through group interaction and small task responsibilities. Lots of praise, encouragement and good staff examples are given. Self ExpressionWe’ll help your child explore creative pleasures through music, play and storytelling. |
Learning and developingWe are keen to reinforce the teaching that children receive at home – promoting respect for the individual and for cultural differences through group work. Special appetitesIf your child is to stay all day we naturally share your concern that he or she enjoys a healthy, well balanced diet. At Nyehome, nutritious lunches are served and special dietary needs catered for. Mid-morning we serve a snack of fresh fruit and milk, for lunch a hot two course meal and mid afternoon a light tea which includes fresh fruit and milk.
